MT. KENYA FishING ItinerarIES
Fly Fishing in Mount Kenya is one of the unique expeditions to look out for. Mt Kenya is a spectacular location to fish for both Rainbow and Brown Trout. There are a number of streams that have both Rainbow and Brown trout. The Lakes are mostly stocked with Rainbow trout that are known to grow to record sizes.

Naro Moru Route
Day 1
Morning spent sorting and organizing equipment for the mountain trek and be driven to Met Station. Hike up to the Teleki valley where you get to experience a spectacular view of the main peaks. Hiking up time will be approximately 4-6 hours with an overnight stay in our cabins at Mackinder’s Camp (4,100m). Packed lunch is provided enroute.
Day 2

After breakfast descend down to met station for pick up

Chogoria–Naro Moru Route-4 Days
Day 1
Drive to Meru Banda’s, Start the trek to Lake Ellis approximately 3-4 hrs walk. Overnight on tents at 3470m.
Day 2
Lake Elis to Lake Michaelson (3950m) After breakfast, you will follow the trail as it leads up through glades of montane forest climbing away from Lake Ellis on its west side, across moorland to a ridge which eventually joins the main Chogoria trail. Beautiful views of Vivienne Falls and the Gorges Valley on descent to the picturesque campsite next to Lake Michaelson. Over night at lake Michelson.
Day 3
After Breakfast, you’ll enjoy fishing until Mid-Day, before starting a hike to Samba Tarn since today’s hike is rather short. Climbing away from the beautiful Lake Michaelson ascend into the alpine zone, a world of rock and ice as we go up towards the main peaks, leaving behind the giant lobelias and groundsels and onto the glacial moraine. A last short, sharp scree slope takes us to Simba Tarn (4620m), where we overnight. This will be a cold night depending on the weather on that day, Dinner and overnight in the Camp.
