Mackinder's Day hike

Our 10km Mackinders Hike trail starts at the Met Station (3,048m ASL), cutting through the marshy vertical bog in the lower moorland zone, past the upper moorland zone, dotted with lobelias and other beautiful montane vegetation, to get to the magnificent Teleki Valley.

4:30 AM: Departure for Mt. Kenya Naro Moru Gate

8:30 AM: Arrival at Mt. Kenya Naro Moru Gate Registration

9:00 AM: Departure for Met station

9:30 AM: Hike Starts

2:00 PM: Mandatory turn-back and descent to avoid encounters with wild animals after dusk.
