The intoxicating fragrance from unique gardens, spacious rooms, exciting food and great outdoors make Naro Moru the perfect lodge for families, couples, conferences and outdoor challenges.

Our rooms which have a wooden floor and decorated with African decor create a Natural Hospitable environment.

There are different kinds of rooms categories offered at Naro Moru River Lodge:-

Located just after the reception; the Standard room is ideal for independent guest, complete with twin or double beds. The bed is wider than a standard single bed and is fitted with crisp, comfortable white linen. Wooden floors and warm natural coloured walls provide a calming atmosphere, and carefully selected Kenyan paintings tie the décor in with the overall contemporary African feel of the lodge. The room comes with a standard desk workstation and a private shower where each guest can comfortably make themselves feel at home.

Located immediately after the Standard rooms, these rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, with rich stone walls. This room offers a stunning dramatic view of the garden and Naro Moru River from the balcony in you ergonomic chair. The room also comes with a fire place, full bathroom and a working desk. If you opt for a room with Queen-size bed or twin beds, an open chaise lounge provides an extra sleeping surface.

This room category is the epitome of contemporary Kenyan elegance. Warm natural-stone walls complement the subtle hues of the wooden floor and allow attention to be drawn to the beautiful paintings and wooden headboard framing the extra-length twin or queen-sized bed. A splash of colour from the Persian rug perfectly complements the chair, and the in-room desk is ideal as a workstation if required. The room comes with a fire place and a luxurious en suite upscale bathroom that includes a combination bathtub/shower as well as a shine for Naro Moru Bath amenities. This room offers private patio overlooking Naro Moru River with the best view of Mt. Kenya at sunrise or sunset.

Naro Moru River Lodge has our restored riverside detached cottage which lies towards the end of Naro Moru River.

The Cottage is ideally situated for walks, cycling, and bird viewing/watching and fishing from our riverbank (which is also permissible.) Permits are available from our reception through the Kenya Wildlife Services.

Each cottage has its own car park located next to it with a lockable veranda where one can store their bicycles and keep garden chairs.

The garden has a picnic table and benches overlooking the stream with viewpoint decking up Mt. Kenya. BBQ is also available upon request.

Below the river bed is the entryway to the Country Homes. Distinguished by its welcoming, sophisticated décor, the country home offers an open sitting area with breathtaking views of the Naro Moru River and a nearby dining room with a six persons’ capacity for an enchanting dinner. Just like the cottage it has a fully equipped kitchen.

The home has a compound that allows one to take a walk as the watch the birds. The area also provides a perfect venue for a private BBQ and a quiet environment ideal or discreet setting for a meeting.

  • The Medium Country Homes have twin beds, full en-suite bathroom with Shine for Naro Moru River Lodge Bath Amenities
  • The large Country Homes have an impressive ensuite master bedroom, complete with a Queen-size bed and an ample closet space.

The bunkhouse provides budget accommodation for those who love the outdoor scenery. It is a popular option for groups wishing to engage in mountaineering, nature trails, mountain biking, motorcycling, hiking, trout fishing and bird watching to name but a few. The facilities which can accommodate a maximum of 8 persons offer hot showers, common room, kitchen and beddings (bring your own towel.)

Mountain Climbers should apply Mountain Entry Permit from Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) or any KWS office in the Country. Book accommodation at Naro Moru River Lodge’s Met Station before climbing Mt. Kenya. This is intended to ensure that everyone has a place to sleep as they climb up the mountain and to avoid the accommodation environment becoming excessively polluted during the holiday.
