Biking Trails

Interact with nature for approximately 5.5 km of winding trails through breathtaking natural landscapes, and leave the everyday stress behind. Take in the sweet smell of azaleas as you explore in Spring blossoms, or grab your binoculars for the bird trails and pedal your way through the Naro Moru River Lodge. Go for an invigorating hike under the shady cover of well rooted trees, or simply enjoy a serene walk in the spectacular scenery. No matter what path you choose, the wonders of nature await you all the way.

The Discovery Bicycle Trail winds through a variety of scenic woodlands and stops at the gardens and lodge attractions along the way.  Widely known for family-friendly riding, the gently rolling path has numerous entry points, so guests of all ages can explore 70 acres on two wheels.  All trails crisscross the Naro Moru river on strong wood on bridges open daily and even in dusk with Gardens Admission, so love birds can explore under the moonlight.

Rentals

Rental bikes and equipment are available daily, based on availability, at the lodge grounds. The Lodge has three main trails to escape into the very heart of nature, they offer a variety of foot trails designed to connect you to the natural world. Our trails have a wide array of options for everyone from casual walkers to serious hikers, all affording an up-close view of Mother Nature at her most spectacular.

Family Trail: This path weaves through the overlook Garden, a natural bloom explodes with and companion tree plantings offers for additional color and texture throughout the year. This is also called the easy path. This is also a friendly path under the moonlight on headlights.

 

Intermediate Trail:  A network of wide, paths that crisscross the gardens, showcasing more than 200 hybrid birds in convenience. An additional trees and shrubs provide an array of blooms making the lodge ideal for a leisurely stroll in any season. The trail is for the physically fit and not faint at heart.

 

Professional/Extreme Trail: Within the Lodge Gardens, the Holly Trail boasts one of the largest displays of Kenyan holly collections in length. The trail hugs the water’s edge on one side and a woodland habitat on the other. Look for wood birds nesting near the interconnecting bridges. This the longest and most challenging. It is a route for the die-hards.
